Julia Maina, Editor-in-Chief

Julia Maina is an ambitious and courageous senior at John Adams and is overjoyed to be the Editor-in-Chief for The Tower. She devotes much of her time to numerous clubs such as JAVA and Eagles Going Green; as well as her many jobs as a lifeguard and a barista. Julia enjoys traveling and working with kids and in the future, hopes to study Education and become a English-Second Language teacher to young children in South America. Hobbies of Julia’s include: reading, writing, cleaning and shopping. Poetry is her favorite form of literature and she enjoys both reading and writing it. Though shy and quiet at times, Julia’s strong opinions shine through the work she writes making it known. A big goal of hers is to travel to all seven continents, three of which she already has. Many friends and family describe Julia as “passionate and driven” and furthermore state that she is “willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done”. Apart from her dedication to education and grades, Julia delights in attending various sporting events to show school spirit. As Junior class vice president last year, Julia hopes to continue in student government to help make senior year the best it can be for the class of 2023.

Along with her role as Editor-in-Chief for The Tower, Julia has also taken on an internship writing for GreatNewsLife. Covering news over all of Northern Indiana, her articles center around John Adams High School and the South Bend community as a whole. Julia’s down to Earth and persistent character is what connects her the most with others. In her work for The Tower, Julia hopes her passions and ideas will inspire others to be themselves and do the things they love.
