Pike Temple, Sports Reporter
ike Temple is a junior at John Adams High School. He plays for the Adams Baseball Team and the 17u/18u Michiana Repetition travel team. Pike is a hard worker on the baseball field and in the classroom. He is an avid sports fan, a die-hard Green Bay Packers fanatic. Pike has watched the NFL since he was six years old. He lived through the Legion of Boom-Marshawn Lynch era. He recalls the prime Colin Kaepernick 49ers years, and when the Manning brothers still played in the league. He remembers when Joe Flacco and Ben Roethlisberger duked it out in the AFC North. Of course, Tom Brady has terrorized the NFL since his first Super Bowl victory in 2002. Pike’s career goals are to publish an article in Sports Illustrated or some other big name news source. He says becoming a Green Bay beat writer sounds appealing, however, his dream job is becoming a professional baseball player, preferably for the Milwaukee Brewers or Kansas City Royals organizations. Pike was introduced to music at a very young age, playing the piano and cello until his sophomore year. He cherishes music for the emotion it can bring to the listener. Pike’s three greatest accomplishments so far in his life are getting a job, hiking the Bighorn Mountains, and hitting a grand slam. He loves to play pick-up soccer and basketball with his friends. Pike’s father, Kerry, had this to say about his son. “Pike is both fun and focused, a good student, and good athlete, a good friend and a good son. He really gets into everything he does. I really like who he is.” Pike accepts the academic challenges of junior year and is genuinely grateful to be attending school in person once again.
