“On what has ended up being my last day of high school, I received an unfortunate score on a test in history and I was feeling very angry and disappointed in myself. While I waited in the hallway for a friend, Mr. Cline, my history teacher walked past and gave me several words of both wisdom and encouragement that really made me feel much better, and now that I look back at that day as my last day of my senior, I am so glad Mr. Cline took the time to say those things to me because I now remember my last day fondly, and only with a hint of regret.”

“Being able to play on the basketball team for one year alongside my brother was by far the most memorable experience during my time at Adams. Although he was on varsity and I was on JV, we practiced together, challenged each other, and overall, spent a lot of time doing something we both loved. Seeing him play well and riding to early morning practices together were only a few of my favorite things. We grew up playing sports together, so playing high school basketball with him was the highlight of my years. Although it was just one season as he would go on to graduate, it only made me appreciate it more. From walking with him on his senior night to hugging him as I subbed him out for the last time, in his final game in The Cave at Mishawaka High School, I’ll forever appreciate our time during that season. Going into the next year, I found basketball to just not be the same without him. I tried out, made the team, however, it just was not the same. I quit soon after, walking away with some of the best memories already made.”

Mrs. Costello
