Abena Antwi, Reporter

Abena Antwi, a junior here at Adams, is thrilled to be back writing for The Tower as a reporter for her second year in a row. Abena is an officer of African Student Association (ASA), John Adams Volunteer Association (JAVA), Spanish Honors Society, and Student Advocates for IB Diversity (SAIBD.)  She is also a part of cheerleading, Quiz Bowl, and Model UN. Additionally, this year she plans to join the National Honors Society (NHS.) Her goals are to successfully obtain the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, read more books, and get a better sleep schedule.

Abena’s close friends would describe her as “funny, determined, and resilient.” If she’s not at school, you can catch her reading, watching her favorite TV show, “Criminal Minds,” or FaceTiming her best friends. Although she has not decided what she wants to pursue in the future, she hopes to attend a good college and have a career that makes a positive impact on the lives of  others.

This year, she looks forward to writing more about school-focused, mental health, and wellness topics, as well as news and current events. She is glad that she has the chance to write for The Tower again and continue to express herself through writing. Abena wants to not only write about topics of popular interest, but also shine light on topics that are usually hidden beneath the shadows.
