Madalyn Berry, Reporter

Maddy Berry, a junior at John Adams High School, is eager to begin her first year of reporting for The Tower. Maddy is originally from Pendleton, Indiana, just outside of Indianapolis, and has been a part of the South Bend community for two years. Maddy enjoys listening to podcasts and watching mystery shows. She finds excitement in shining light upon people’s stories. One of Maddy’s goals during her time with The Tower is to get to know more people; she wants to branch out and not only become a better writer but also a better speaker and interviewer.

Maddy is a dance captain for John Adams High School choir– yes, John Adams does have a choir and Maddy would love to see you attend the performances–and she is a second-year member of Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) where she placed second in Food Marketing against other schools in Indiana. Maddy recently joined Eagles Going Green and is looking forward to helping the community. During her free time, she works as a hostess at Villa Macri in Heritage Square, goes on late-night Target runs with friends, and dabbles in a lot of outdoor activities, like archery and bike riding.

With the hopes of majoring in broadcasting and journalism in college, she wants to write opinionated articles and share real news and real stories. According to her grandma, “Maddy’s musical laugh is contagious. She has a wonderful sense of humor and can laugh with others as well as with herself. Maddy is a ‘must-know’ person.” As a reporter for The Tower, she is hoping to engage with others and make stories. She can’t wait to meet you!
