On the weekend of March 6, 2021, five Adams Mock Trial teams advanced to the state competition determined by results from various regional competitions in Indiana. These teams included The Frends, who advanced from the Indianapolis Regional and ranked 5th, Smockin’ Hot, Blair Arson Project, and Queso Bueno who all advanced from the South Bend Regional and ranked 3rd, 5th, and 6th, respectfully, as well as Mock Block who advanced from the Evansville and ranked 2nd in that regional competition. 

The Adams participants who received best attorney awards at the state level competition included Rachel Bays from the Frends team, Monica Caponigro who received the award twice from  Smockin’ hot, the senior team, Kyara Soria-Douglas from Mock Block, Katie Hensell from the Frends, Genevieve Horvath from Blair Arson Project, Ben McVeigh who received the award twice from Queso Bueno, Sam Mischak who received the award twice from Mock Block, Sam Nashel from the Frends, Karisten Poole from Blair Arson Project. Monica Caponigro, Ben McVeigh, and Sam Mischak were all top ten attorneys in the state. 

The Adams participants who received best witnesses at the state level competition were Seth Conley from Mock Block, Genevieve Horvath from Blair Arson Project, Lily Kahn from the Frends, Connor Hruscovich from the Frends, Persephone Kilker who received two awards from Blair Arson Project, Ben McVeigh from Queso Bueno, Sam Mischak from Mock Block, Sam Nashel from the Frends, Olivia Purcell from Queso Bueno, Brigid Reilly from Smockin’ Hot, Samuel Villagra-Stanton from Smockin’ Hot, and Forest Wallace from Smockin’ Hot. Sam Mischak and Samuel Villagra-Stanton were both in the top ten witnesses for the state. 

The Frends was the only team to advance to the final four round and Carmel High School ended up winning first place. The Tower newspaper and Adams’ students congratulate all of the students who competed in the state mock trial competition for all of their hard work and effort.
