We all know that it’s back to school season. Everyone is getting back into the swing of things and solidifying their routine. However, you might be having trouble balancing your schoolwork and responsibilities, especially after a relaxing summer vacation. It might be hard for some to stay organized. So, here are some things that will help you stay organized so you can start the year with good grades and keep that going throughout this school year!
The first and most effective tip is putting a widget for the reminders app on your phone’s home screen. This is a tip that many might already know and utilize, but it is truly life-changing. Having the widget on your phone’s home screen makes it an easily accessible planner and to-do list. If you get a homework assignment in class, just quickly click the widget and jot down your assignment to remember for later. You can even add due dates and separate your homework into categories by class! Having the widget on your phone is super helpful because we are on our phones a lot so you will constantly see it when you are continually checking your phone! This is an easy thing that everyone can implement to aid them in their quest for a 4.0.
The next tip is to have a folder for every class. This can be done in a few different ways. If you have a binder, you can get one folder with multiple pockets and dividers, or folders for each class. Having a folder for every class helps keep your papers separate so you always know how to find the papers for a specific class. It is very inconvenient only to have one or two folders and to have to flip through papers to find the one you need for a particular class. If you have a specific folder for each class, you know exactly where your papers are for that class. If you have separate spaces for the papers from different classes, it will make a huge difference.
The final tip is to have a designated spot where you keep your backpack/school supplies at home. No one wants to be running around in the morning looking for their backpack because they don’t know where they put it, or forgetting their Chromebook at home because they left it on the dining room table when they were doing homework the night before. Always put your school stuff back in the same place so you know where it will be the next morning and are ready to grab it and go! This will help you make it to school on time and avoid stressful scavenger hunts for your missing pencil case.
It is important to find things that work for you when it comes to school. The way that someone else does things might not work for you, so most of all, experiment and find things that will help you be the best student you can be! Get a planner, use a calendar on your bedroom wall, or write homework assignments on the back of your hand if you want to! These are just some basics that are recommended to achieve academic success.
