Jonah Arzadon, a busy yet outgoing student, is only beginning his senior year at John Adams High School, but he’s starting strong. This year, he involves himself in numerous clubs and high-level classes, striving to end his high school career with as much of an experience as he can get.
Jonah has kept himself busy throughout high school being a partial International Baccalaureate (IB) student, along with participating in many clubs and even acquiring leadership roles in them. Jonah is the co-founder of Chess club, a captain of the Quiz Bowl team, an officer for Spanish Club, a member of National Honors Society (NHS,) and a recent member of the Asian American/Pacific Islander (AAPI) club.
Last year, Jonah participated in both individual and team Quiz Bowl Nationals. He strongly encourages joining the team: “I think one of my favorite things about Quiz Bowl is the community you get; you spend so much time with these people that you grow a community.”
Jonah aspires to attend Purdue University where he will major in chemical engineering. For Jonah, chemistry has always been his favorite subject. His first experience with chemistry was Honors Chemistry, and ever since then he has loved it. “If I were to go into a food science field regarding that chemistry, I think it would be really fun and really interesting to explore concepts and develop the research in that area.”
As an upperclassman on his path to graduation, Jonah knows all the ins and outs of what it’s like to endure the rigorous coursework and experiences of high school. He heavily recommends pushing yourself to be the best version of yourself.“ Don’t let other people sway you from doing harder classes. Get involved early on. It was hard for me with COVID-19, but even if there’s a club that piques your interest a little bit, it can go a long way.”
The Tower wishes a spectacular year for Jonah, and all seniors alike!
