New York Fashion Week (NYFW) is the most iconic fashion event of the year. This week is the time for all designers to showcase their new fall-winter collections. It is an honor to be invited or to walk these shows. NYFW helps give insight into what new trends will come to be in fall-winter 2023.

Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs made an outstanding debut after a three-year hiatus. Their collection was futuristic and dark. It consisted of maxi dresses with a layered feel at the bottom. Many dresses had rips throughout that helped bring out their futuristic style. Another big thing in their collection was crop jackets. They help bring out the layers in the dresses by adding jackets. One big statement was the models all wearing neutral or dark-colored boots. The boots helped accentuate the looks to a whole new level.

Collina Strada

Collin Strada took the catwalk to a whole new meaning. They were dressing some of their models as pigs, and lizards, and giving them elf ears. This collection was whimsical with the layers added to the outfits with button-ups or many tops. The pants stayed in a range of baggy trousers or maxi skirts/dresses. The shoes were bright or neutral-colored low-top sneakers. Some of the shoes had prints of animal feet. Their take on this collection was supposed to be a renovated look on an animal farm. The collection consisted of neutrals with a pop of color added. It was flamboyant but had a calming aesthetic.

Christian Siriano

Christian Siriano took an elegant approach to NYFW. In honor of Audrey Hepburn, it was a rose-filled collection. The collection was maxi dresses with added shapes, ruffles, and or just a sleek simple look. Flembuent hats were added to the dresses which helped bring the looks together. The shoes for all models were basic black heels that didn’t distract from the beautiful dresses.

Priscavera

Priscavera brought sexy back to offices with their fall-winter collection. Their collection is meant to be interchangeable throughout day and night time. It also gave a gothic look that helped this vision. The looks consisted of button-ups or blazers with mid-length skirts. Priscavera added low-waisted trousers with different patterns to match their tops. They also added different silhouettes and minimal layers to project their vision. The shoes added a great vision with some being small heels, knee-high boots, flats, and loafers.

Coach

Coach put on leather for their fall-winter runway show. It consisted of two different versions of leather jackets. The versions included cropped and long (knee-length and maxi). Coach would pair leather jackets with short leather shorts or a leather maxi skirt. Leather isn’t the only jacket showcase they had. They also added jeans and leather jackets with fur to bring certain looks out. The fur jackets were paired with maxi jean skirts and ripped mom jeans. Their collection also had sheer maxi dresses in a variety of different colors. All of the models wore black calf boots. The minimalist shoes helped bring out the color and designs of the collection.
