The Statue of Liberty was dedicated to the United States this day. It is a gift from the French for the French-American alliance during the American Revolution. It was designed by Frederick Auguste Bartholdi and is 300 feet. It is a symbol of liberty, freedom, and a welcoming sign to many immigrants coming across the ocean from Europe.

We all know what day this is! Halloween is when kids go from door to door saying “Trick or Treat!” or have Halloween parties. But do you really know how Halloween started? Halloween started in the Celtic culture called Samhain. On this day the people dressed in costumes to keep the ghosts away and offered food the ghosts. Eventually, Christian values spread to the island and the people adopted All Souls Day which is on November 2. During this day, poor people would knock on doors asking for food. Eventually, the two combined giving us Halloween.
