Some people, including me, love to watch shows after school, in the evening, or with friends. For everyone who may need a new show to watch or is bored of always watching the same thing, here are some recommendations of shows that dropped in 2023.
The first really good show from 2023 is “A Small Light”. The show plays in the time of World War Two , between 1939 and 1945 and is about a woman called Miep Gies and her husband who are trying to hide Jews in Amsterdam before the Germans can find them. The most famous family they hid was the Frank family.. The show focuses on Anne Frank and how she and her family tried to hide from the Nazis in a secret room behind a bookcase in Amsterdam. In the time of hiding the daughter of Mr.Frank, Anne Frank wrote a diary about her life, her feelings, her thoughts and her experiences about the time of hiding with her family. Her diary is known as the most famous diary ever. Anne Frank was born in 1929 and was just a teenager when World War Two started. She grew up in Germany and had to flee from the Nazis in Germany to Amsterdam in the Netherlands. After the war started, Germany occupied the Netherlands really fast and the Frank family knew they had to hide before the Germans could find them. At this time Mr. Frank was the chef of a small business and had four employees. One of the employers was Ms. Gies and she and the other employers helped the Frank family to hide and to keep them alive,
Unfortunately everyone who knows Anna Frank knows how it will end but they made the show, which is based on a true event, really good, interesting and also sad. This show is still one of the best shows I saw this year and for everyone who is interested in history, this is a definite recommendation.
In February we got a new season of Outer Banks. This was the third season and we can expect more in the next few years or maybe months. The show Outer Banks is about a group of friends who live on the island called Outer Banks. The island is split into two sides, one side where the rich people are living and on the other side the poor people. One of the guys from the poor friend group is John B who lost his father years ago when he was searching for a treasure. The first season started with the finding of a map to find treasure and the group wanting to find it. Later they realize they have to be faster than a rich family from the other side of the island because they are also searching for the treasure. The second season ended with no successes to get the treasure but In the new season they found a hidden message of a bigger treasure and started the new expedition.
In my opinion, Outer Banks is a really good show and never gets boring. The show is perfect to watch with friends and is also a recommendation for everyone who likes shows like this.
Most people who like Star Wars know the show “The Mandalorian”. In March 2023, we got the third season of this show. The Mandalorian is a show about a soldier from a specific civilization who got completely destroyed after the Clone Wars. He worked as a bounty hunter until he got the task to eliminate a child named Grogu, this child is from a species who got really rare. The Mandalorian decided to save this child and bring him back where he belongs. On his way to bring this child strayed through the whole galaxy to his home, he realized how important this child is because the whole emperor tries to get this child.
This show has a lot of action and the struggle of the Mandalorian to keep the child, makes the show very exciting to watch.
In my opinion the year 2023 was a great year with so many good shows in so many different genres and we can be excited for the next few months because we will get more good shows in 2024.
