Kenneth “Kenny” Brown Jr. is a passionate senior at John Adams High School. Kenny’s friend Brooklynn describes him as “caring, playful, smart, talented and funny.” “Managing everything on my plate” is what Kenny believes his best attribute is.
Kenny is a member of the Indiana National Guard, attending required monthly meetings and completing the basic training over the summer. He considers the National Guard a strong motivator for his aspiration to become a police officer. “The improvement of my leadership skills” is Kenny’s favorite part about the National Guard.
A big part of Kenny’s character is his involvement in the John Adams Marching Band. During his four years of involvement as the head drum major for the marching band, he helped lead the band to multiple awards such as: 2020 State appearance in marching band and most outstanding junior in the band. Alongside his leadership, Kenny plays the drums for pep band and jazz band. Kenny has volunteered much of his time to the community. He volunteers at Jefferson Intermediate School and around the fine arts department at Adams and with the South Bend Police Department.
Kenny’s main academic interest is criminal justice and is in his second year of the Career and Technical Education program’s course for criminal justice. He is eager to talk about his passion at any given opportunity.
Kenny is determined to become a police officer, whether that’s by going straight into the police academy or attending college for advancing his studies in criminal justice. Kenny Brown is a fun-loving, caring and well-respected person within the Adams community and he hopes to make a positive impact in the time he has left of his senior year.
