Sceva Collins, Writer
Sceva Collins is rounding out his high school career by writing for The Tower for the first time. With graduation ever quickly approaching, Sceva has considered the myriad of different fields he could go into for college. One of the main reasons he’s decided to take Newspaper, apart from the desire to write about things he likes, is to explore and hopefully decide if English or Journalism is the path he’d like to go down professionally. Though nothing is set in stone, he has begun to lead towards Anthropology and/or Biology with the hopes of perhaps working in forensics, prosthetic development or medical research. All in all, he hopes fundamentally to be successful and joyful in whatever he ends up pursuing after high school.
A generally quiet, though confident soul, Sceva considers himself passionate about topics relating to the LGBTQ+ community and its history, keeping up on current international politics and major progressions being made in medical and environmental studies.
Sceva has found a hobby in pottery making, taking a third and final year of ceramics at Adams with hopes of taking further elective courses in college. He loves listening to music, his favorite genre being rock, and going to events and festivals where music is played live. In addition to live music, Sceva enjoys theater, musical or otherwise, though he is not an actor himself. He loves to draw and make art, finding things like sketching or weaving embroidery thread bracelets therapeutic and a way to relax and turn off his brain. This year, Sceva signed up for several more clubs than usual: HOSA, ASL Club, JAVA, Art Club, Pen Pal Club and Eagles Going Green, though his schedule may dictate only a few of them being attended. He is the vice president of the Pride Club this year and is a member of NHS, eager to participate to his full capacity as a leader and a team member.
Sceva considers himself a strong writer, excelling in the department of upset emails and passion-filled essays about his favorite things, but this year, he is most excited to spread the word of things he enjoys via his articles and further his journalistic abilities.
