Renee Turner, Writer
Renee Turner is a Senior at John Adams High School who is very excited for the future of their final remaining year at Adams. Once away from the prison that is high school, Renee plans to apply to Purdue University in West Lafayette to study as an art major and pursue her dreams of working as an artist. The arts is something that they feel they were destined to do, and carry a strong passion for–especially in today’s modern world. After graduating college, Renee hopes to secure a field where they can continue to create and make an impact while doing so.
Renee spends most of their free time practicing and improving on her art as much as she can. This may have caused her other hobbies to be a little neglected, but she tries to give them some attention too. When not drawing, these other hobbies include playing bass guitar, skateboarding, writing and modifying their clothes by sewing or bleaching them. Renee’s personality tends to be more introverted and unfortunately socially awkward, but once she’s around people she’s comfortable with, they are always laughing.
Renee believes they’re pretty decent at most skills that are creatively centered. They are best at seeing the beauty in small things, which also prompts them to often take pictures of such things, either using her phone, Canon or Polaroid camera. One of Renee’s major goals for this year is to improve herself by being kinder to themselves and to stop being a certified procrastinator for the benefit of their grades and stress levels.
Ever since sophomore year, Renee has been interested in writing for The Tower, and it’s safe to say she is thrilled to finally have that chance. What she’s most excited for as a writer is the opportunity to share their interests and report about events happening both locally and globally. Renee also looks forward to dipping her toes into journalism, potentially discovering a new hobby to indulge in.
