Clara Walton
More than almost anything in the world, Clara Walton loves stories. From Shakespeare plays to her grandmother’s folktales to her favorite musicals, stories have always captivated Clara. Even more than she loves reading and hearing stories, Clara loves telling stories. She especially loves telling stories on stage– nothing compares to the joy that she feels when she is performing on stage in a play or musical. Recent favorite stage roles of Clara’s include Hope Harcourt in “Anything Goes” at South Bend Civic Theater, Goneril in “King Lear” with the Robinson Shakespeare Company, and Fredericka Armfeldt in “A Little Night Music” (also at SBCT). She also loves telling stories through writing, and is excited to have a further opportunity to do so as a staff member with The Tower. When not reading, singing, acting or writing, Clara enjoys playing on John Adams’s exceptional varsity Quiz Bowl team, spending time with her friends and family (including her two cats, Barley and Edward), listening to many different kinds of music, and eating at her favorite local restaurants, like Chicory Café, Fiddler’s Hearth, Nom Nom Pho, and Woochi.
Currently, Clara is enjoying the start to another chapter of her personal story– her junior year of high school. This year, Clara has begun the International Baccalaureate program at Adams, which she thinks will be a very exciting challenge. Clara also hopes to join the National Honors Society this spring. After high school, Clara plans to go to college to study English literature and become a high school English teacher. This fall, she is hoping to narrow down what colleges she might be interested in attending. When she becomes a teacher, Clara hopes she will be able to share many wonderful stories with lots and lots of curious students. But before she does that, Clara is looking forward to sharing many, many stories with the readers of The Tower.
