Baseball player, oldest sibling of three, and avid golfer – these are just a few ways to describe senior Aidan Micinski.
Aidan has been part of the baseball team since freshman year, and even after undergoing Tommy John surgery, a procedure to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow, he stayed focused and worked hard to get back on the field. Baseball has been a major part of his high school experience, but there’s more to Aidan than just sports. When he’s not on the diamond, he’s probably out golfing with friends, catching a game, or doing anything that involves staying active. And when it comes to his favorite part of high school, spending time with his girlfriend, Izzy Davis, tops the list. Whether it’s going to football games, school events, or just hanging out, those memories are the ones that stick with him the most.
After high school, Aidan will head to Huntington University in Huntington Indiana, to continue playing baseball and study sports management. Although he appreciates what high schools taught him both academically and athletically, he is also ready for the next chapter. Aidan says what he’ll miss the most is being part of the baseball team and getting to wear “Eagles” across his chest — a feeling that meant a lot to him over the past four years. He’s especially grateful for the memories and friends who made every season special.
When asked what he values most outside of school and sports, Aidan is quick to name his girlfriend of almost a year and a half, Izzy Davis. A junior at Adams, Izzy is a member of the Adams cheer team and is working on her associate’s degree at Ivy Tech alongside her high school diploma. Aidan says Izzy has been one of his biggest supporters – from off-day hangouts to road games and everything in between, she’s always been there. He adds that she plays a major role in his life, and he’s glad they’re in it together.
Aidan Micinski’s time at Adams has been filled with hard work, ups and downs, and memories that will stick with him for life. From long days on the field to recovering from surgery to building a relationship with Izzy, he’s stayed focused — with his friends and family always in his corner of course. As Aidan gets ready to move on to Huntington, he’s excited for a fresh start, but Adams — and everything it’s given him — will always be a part of who he is.
P.S. His advice to underclassmen is to stay on top of your grades and keep a good attitude, even when things get tough — it makes all the difference. Don’t forget it.
