Adams High School is excited to announce a weekend full of community, creativity, and giving back. Two major fundraising events —Big Band Bash and NHS fundraiser Casa Bloom— will take place on May 2 and 3, promising something for everyone while supporting great causes.
First up, the Big Band Bash hits the stage on Friday, May 2, bringing the spirit of Motown to life with a night of high-energy performances, dancing and delicious food. This annual celebration is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Adams High School band program and will feature a variety of jazz ensembles from our high schoolers and local middle schools.
Attendees can anticipate heart-pounding music, vibrant decorations and the strong urge to break out in jazz hands as student musicians display their talent and hard work. With a Motown theme, students and families alike can dance to a night full of classic hits. In addition to stellar performances, guests can look forward to a lively atmosphere designed to emphasize the grooviness of the 70s. From themed photo ops to dancing under the disco ball, Big Band Bash promises not just entertainment, but meaningful memories. It’s a night to dress up, show up and support the arts in style. If you’re coming for the music, the movement, or the eats, this event is surely a highlight of the spring season —and every ticket sold supports the continued success of the school’s music program.
Following Big Band Bash, the Adams chapter of the National Honor Society invites the community to their spring-themed Casa Bloom fundraiser on Saturday, May 3. This innovative and engaging event is full of family-friendly fun, and it’s all for a good cause. As the beneficiary for this year’s fundraiser, local community center La Casa de Amistad —which offers advocacy, cultural and educational services to the Latino/Hispanic community in the area— will receive all proceeds from this event.
Highlights of the event include:
- Trivia Games to test your knowledge and compete for prizes
- A donated clothing thrift shop where you can sustainably shop
- A silent auction featuring items and services donated by local businesses
- Escape rooms, each themed with a different level of difficulty: easy, medium and hard
- A cook-off, showcasing the best chili and pies around town
What sets this event apart is its immersive experience and hands-on fun. There’s a sense of community in every activity, whether you’re teaming up with friends to beat the clock in an escape room or bidding on a locally made gift basket in the silent auction. The NHS students have poured their creativity into each detail, ensuring an unforgettable time for guests while making a tangible difference in our community.
These two events are packed with activities, and Adams High School is honored to unite the community in service, celebration and creativity. Groove to Stevie Wonder at the Big Band Bash or refresh your wardrobe at Casa Bloom— either way, your presence matters. Make sure to mark your calendars, invite your friends and join Adams students as they give back to the community and showcase their talents.
