As secretary of the Student Government and the National Honor Society, co-captain of the Quiz Bowl team, copy editor for the yearbook, company member and principal soloist in the upcoming production of “The Nutcracker” at the Southold Dance Theatre and a full International Baccalaureate (IB) candidate, senior Olivia Rosato is the definition of “she’s done it all.”
As her high school experience comes to an end, Olivia is beginning to consider what she would like to pursue, as a degree and a profession. English, history or some combination of interdisciplinary study is the current direction she is heading down. Though she is unsure of what she’ll use her field of study for, Olivia believes that a postgraduate degree is something she will go for. Looking back on her decision to be a full IB student, Olivia remarks that she doesn’t regret her choice, but instead is very proud of herself and her achievements.
“I really wanted to do something that was academically rigorous and that I knew would set me up well for college,” Olivia commented. “I really appreciate that the IB focuses on a well rounded education in a lot of areas.”
Olivia is an incredibly hardworking, organized, determined and committed student who enjoys doing things she cares about and making a difference. One of her mottos is, “organization is the key to everything,” which certainly sums her up as a person. Throughout her four years at John Adams, Olivia has accomplished many great things with her top one being surviving. In actuality, she is proud that she stayed involved in all her extracurriculars even when things got challenging. Olivia’s only regret of high school was that she didn’t socialize more and expand her circle.
Looking back, Olivia would describe her experience at Adams as stressful but fun. She stated, “I’d say it’s been pretty enjoyable and I’m proud of the work I’ve put in. I feel I’ve learned a lot in school and as a person.” Olivia would like to thank Adam, James and Mr. Bart, as well as all her friends and teachers for sticking by her. A message she’d like to send to any underclassmen would be, “Don’t be afraid to do the things that people say are really hard, such as full IB and balancing the schedule because if you want to do it and it’s something you are really passionate about, you’ll make it work.”
Olivia has put in the work and effort over the past four years and it has paid off, but most importantly, she’s proud of herself and her dedication. Olivia, we wish you the absolute best in your future and we know that you will go on to do amazing things!
