Halloween, the one day a year when people dress up as whatever they choose and fill up a pumpkin, or even a pillow case, with a gargantuan amount of candy. Some people prepare for this holiday months in advance, while others wait until the very last minute to find a costume. If you’re a person who fits into the first category, I envy you, but congratulations, you’re ahead of the game! If you’re a member of the second category, welcome to the club fellow procrastinators and this is for you. Here are five cost friendly and last minute Halloween costumes for my besties on a budget! You’ll find that Walmart and Amazon will be your absolute best friends for almost all of these ideas.
- A Doctor: It may sound like a super basic costume idea but call yourself Meredith Grey or Derek Shepherd and bam, you just brought it to the next level. All you need for this costume is a pair of cheap scrubs and a lab coat if you really want to spruce it up. For some extra authenticity, get yourself a stethoscope from the kids toy section. This is really one of those costumes where you can make it as simple or as over the top as you want.
- Tinker-Bell: This costume is way more simple than you might think. The three things you need to pull off this look is a green dress (glittery, metallic, basic, anything works), some cute fairy wings, and top is off with a wand! For some extra bling, use some shimmery makeup to create a majestic look. The super fun thing about this costume is that you can swap out the green dress for any other color and just be a fairy!
- A Black Cat: This might just be the easiest costume ever! A black jumper or a pair of black leggings and a black shirt, some cute cat ears (blinged out or not), and a bit of makeup for the whiskers is everything you need to create this adorable look. If you want to add a little clip-on tail, that could absolutely pull the outfit all together.
- Jenna from “13 Going on 30”: Bring this iconic look to life with only one item, the original party scene dress. Add some bright and outgoing makeup to the final look and you have yourself one dazzling Halloween costume.
- A Construction Worker: Do you have a pair of jeans and a t-shirt? Great! Add an orange or yellow vest and hard hat and you’ve officially made yourself a construction worker! This costume is another one that you can add or substitute things in to make as simple or complex as you want! For example, adding some makeup to make it look like you have been hard at work all day.
I hope you all have a fun and safe Halloween! Get together with friends and go trick or treating or have a little movie night.
