For those who follow John Adams student media, the work of Ryden Larimore may be familiar. As a former reporter for The Tower and a co-creator of The Tower’s “Word of the Day” production, Ryden has continuously shared his gifts with our audience over the last two years.
A thriving creative mind, Ryden has experience in an assortment of media and mediums. At age 10, he began writing and performing stand-up, sketch and improvisational comedy: all genres he continues to work at. At age 12, he wrote his first song on guitar. In his time at Adams, Ryden pursues his musical aspirations as the guitarist in the school’s jazz band and is a part of a alongside fellow Adams Eagles Michael Maxwell, Joie Warnke and Joel Martinez.
Before high school, Ryden attended Good Shepherd Montessori School from first through eighth grade. Ryden characterizes Good Shepherd as a resoundingly unique place that provided him with opportunities entirely different from those of many of his current peers, thus contributing significantly to the formation of his idiosyncratic perspective to creative endeavors. Ryden also greatly appreciated the farm curriculum offered at Good Shepherd and the focus on developing a relationship with nature— a relationship that he tries to maintain through spending time outdoors and going on hikes in the summer.
After graduation, Ryden plans on attending college to pursue a degree in audio engineering and takes interest in a career as a sound technician for live music. He also strives for a continued pursuit of his personal musical and comedic interests. The Tower wishes Ryden all the best in his senior and beyond, and we will let him know when he comes in to film the next Word of the Day video.
